GW2 discussion that doesn't quite fit elsewhere

Looks like some sort of Charr Disco in Eri's one. Very funky.

There's also this official vid of the making of the first cinematic, part of which can be see in one of Anya's links filmed from the game

been using this link here for most of my media fix

http://www.guildwars2guru.com/forum/this-gamescom-compilation-information-streaming-t6651.html

lots of cool clips, though the quality isnt that great.

im really surprised with the charr animations. specially the tails. they look great, and they use this really cool paint brush effect for when you hit stuff.

not sure im such a big fan of the UI though. the BIG RED BALL in the middle seems so intrusive. i hope you can change it to your liking like in gw1.
seems like everyone can just about shoot and cast while moving which looks odd. but i like the skills that allow you to charge them up by keeping the skill button pressed.

This is wrong on so many levels, I can't even begin to describe it.

Can we get that dev arrested on drug use? It's the only explanation that works...

As I said to Erendis when she mentioned it on MSN, I don't really understand the problem to be honest.

Guild Wars' gameplay mechanics got pretty boring, I'm all for changing it up if they reckon the new version works better. And we can't really judge if it works better till we've played the game.

There's a write-up about the necromancer at the oficial site.

http://www.guildwars2.com/en/the-game/p ... cromancer/

"Rather than going into a downed state when he runs out of health, a necromancer automatically activates the Death Shroud ability. A necromancer can continue fighting in the ghostly Death Shroud form until he either runs out of life force or he gets a kill, rallying back into his own corpse."

Sounds pretty cool, possibly enough to make necromancers extremely survivable. Looking forward to trying that out, now.

Is there any information as to wether the different races will have different abilities and what they might be?

There will be race-skills. It's been said that those skills are like weaker versions of ones professions have access to, so they won't be game-breaking. Not sure about racial traits or something like it, have yet to read anything on the subject.

Well I doubt I'll ever reach 50/50, which is a shame. Still, I'm pretty excited about the rewards that I already have! :D

As for mini-pets, I'll mkae a list of any I have undedicated, in the xunlai section of the forum.

Huh! Only 31/50 but apparently that's enough to unlock all the items, all the rest is just titles.

I have 32/50 so like Klok I have all the items (apparently?) and am just missing titles.

Only 14 more minipets to dedicate, so I might as well take a look at that - not sure if I have any undedi that people might be interested in though :(

Otherwise it's.. more Xarafarming!

Hmm, getting a Kurzick/Luxon armour and a Vabbian armour would get me three more uh... NUMBERS... in one fell swoop.

Let the race for MORE NUMBERS begin!

I have to get a bunch of minipets, still 20 short. Good thing i was saving some money in case i had to buy more armor.

All in all, im happy to have some goals in gw again

Hmm, I wuouldn't mind Flameseeker, that'd be a nice title for a Charr. Using up the thingy to get a Tormented weapon that Rhay gave me will get me 1 more, and levelling up an Imperial Phoenix will get me another...

Flameseeker would go well with an ele of any race as well. And possibly as an ironic title for a sylvari! If I can get to that, I'll be content. If I can get the next one up, I'll be happy. Can't get the top one without a pvp title, and I'm not farming 700,000 Balthazar faction for that!

Maybe I now have a reason to log in and play again.
Though by "play" I guess I mean farm money and buy increasingly expensive things...

My honor is not only passed target (44 / 40, GWAMM ya know!) but I apparently have a PvP title too. As I never play PvP so am nowhere near any of the ranks in the obvious ones I am going to guess it's the "Eternal Zaishen Supporter" that counts as PvP - which you can buy with zkeys which you can buy for gold, and don't need to max it for the trophy.
So don't give up getting 18/18 Bera!

After cashing in the things I hadn't in my HoM and doing some pet trading to get the last few for 40 I am on 42 / 50.
I need:
Tame a Black Widow Spider
Buy FoW and Vabbian armor
Buy a Torment Weap
Collect any 7 more Opressor/Destroyer weaps to make it up to 15

If I get that far I'll worry about buying 10 more minis to get the last point.

Yeah, that's the one I was considering going for. 700,000 faction is what I'd need to get the keys I need for rank 3 in the normal way. I guess I could divert the money currently going into the alcohol, sweets and party fund to buy keys from other players. And it'll even pay some sweets and booze back.

Other than that, my objectives are:
Finish the last few HM missions/dungeons I need to do.
Farm cloths of the brotherhood in glint's challenge for hero armour.
Farm the other hero armours as I can.
Vabbian armour.
Tame an Imperial Phoenix.
Get 14 more oppressor/destroyer weapons.
And minis. Perhaps.

zaishen supporter does work as a pvp title, so does Gamer, oddly enough...

seems like most of the points don't reward people that accomplished much, but instead just reward people with the most cash in their wallets.
certainly gives me a reason to start farming again. i wonder whats popular nowadays...

I'm really happy with all this though. certainly came at the right time!

Oh my, I have a grand total of 7 points! :D

I would like to get at least 2 more to get the orange tabby cat though, still got a truckload of minis I could dedicate but doubt that will be enough. :/

The updating in this thread has got slacker than a girl from Cannock.

Anyway,

First up a pretty picture: http://i.imgur.com/JBHgL.jpg. Showing all GW2 professions? Maybe!

But Infinity, I hear you cry, who's that guy on the right? Ah yes, that'll be the new prof; the Guardian: http://www.guildwars2.com/en/the-game/professions/guardian/

Lastly, a little character creator. I have no idea how accurate this will turn out to be, and it's far from complete, but it's fun to have a look at: http://www.gw2tools.12hp.de/

I hadn't seen that, it's a nice article though! Should sell a few copies for them :)

I've no doubt there will be aspects of the game that don't work quite as well as they expect once exposed to the mass of humanity. But I also think there's going to be a lot to love.

One thing I'm particularly excited about is the various reports I've seen where people say they are actually paying attention to what's going on in game while playing, rather than darting their vision between the various interface elements.
