Gary Gygax - RIP

Postby Muppet » Tue Mar 04, 2008 10:28 pm

Even though you lot are not as old as me, as you play roleplay games then hopefully this name means something.

I still have several of his books, dating back to late 70's, from the days when I was still playing pen&paper AD&D - no computer games around then.

So much that has come since owes a debt to what he and his colleagues created.

Gygax was a legend. I'm a huge D&D geek.. still have my old first edition D&D bible :)

Rich Burlew inserted an unprecedented tribute to him in Order of the Stick (D&D webcomic, and very good too). http://www.giantitp.com/comics/ootslatest.html (will go out of date but the site's not loading currently so I can't get a more direct link)
