Invading the UK

Postby Varda » Wed Jun 01, 2011 6:50 am

On June 2nd I'm moving to the UK to start working. Stay clear of any hospitals if you value your life and/or sanity.

Also, tell BT that I expect the internet connection to be decent. Or else.

Good Grief woman, why?!

Although on a more positive note, at least we are relatively free of natural disasters*.

*That's the only one I could think of.

Joking aside, I hope you enjoy your time here, and don't come to think of it as a miserable country full of rude people where the weather sucks. It's not all bad!

Too late, she already thinks that. And she's going to be working in Essex, to boot.

Still, at least she'll have a nursing job, which is more than she'd find in Portugal. And the banks won't charge her a maintenance fee just for having an account with them. (The public transport system will suck up half her salary instead)

OK, get on to ITV player and watch The Only Way is Essex (if it is there).
It won a BAFTA, must be so true to life you can know what you are in for.

Get some green wellies and a range rover, pimped of course - posh essex

Hi all!

Essex doesn't look terrible so far, maybe because all I've seen of it were some big roads, the hospital and Writtle College campus where I'm currently residing. Ah, and the buses - but they seem a bit on the old side. Nothing new, then!

I'll be working in Broomfield Hospital, which seems huge to me. Also I'm not entirely certain what to think of a hospital that has something like a Mall inside its atrium... Honestly, there's a WH Smith, an M&S mini market thing and a bunch of other stores I didn't take note of the names. Well, at least the ambulatory patients have something to look at while waiting to be seen I guess. :P

The sun is shining for the second day in a row. Maybe I'm not actually in England yet...

*checks the time*

Bloody hell, it must be England for me to be up this early!

Hope we all get to meet up sometime soon, by the way. And of course I'll be meeting you when you come over to Her Majesty's Land, Rhay. We can ahve a behelit meetup then! :D

Ok I'm late to the party as usual, but welcome to England! Hope it's treating you well so far.

I'm hoping to head dahn sahf at some point to see Ellers and her man-slave again, so we should organise a meet up when I do! :D

What counts as "down south"? I'm in London (as I have been for the last five years)..

Anywhere south of where I am now. So South Yorkshire and below all be dragons!

Visiting Ellen and Ric last year was about as far south as I've ever ventured (within this country anyway!). Twas a strange, roundabout filled place.

Guess I'm a dragon, then. *eats Sixxor, bones and all*

I always thought Ellen lived in the north, though. Have I been mistaken all these years?

I did, until about 3 years ago when I moved to Hampshire, which is very southern. Even further south than London. Same county as Bera, last I knew. I'm not as close to the sea as he is though so I'm still not as southern as him ;)
