Fashion for Factions : Wannabe fashionistas will love it!

Postby Lys » Tue Mar 07, 2006 4:51 am

Well, we all know that GW isn't about skills nor uber weapons. Don't mention the lack of storyline or the non-existant RP part. To be honest, it's not even about treasures hunting. We, smart people, know where the true fun is to be found : fashion. Armors, brags, clothes. Prestige.
Still, Prophecies "high end" armors are often disappointing. Sometimes they look worse than their plebs counterpart. Hopefully, Factions seems to have higher standards regarding clothes.

Now why would someone pay more than 1000 plat for that when he'll soon have this : http://pc.ign.com/articles/693/693676p1.html

"But the most prized of these materials are the shells of young turtles—strong yet pliable adding needed protection and the flexibility to fight on the run. "

(Well, without any doubt, those turtles are the giantstomping type)

Image

"Always the life of the party, the Mesmer looks as good at a charity ball as she does on the battlefield."

Kivanna is very excited about the upcoming elementalist attire, her current Stella Mccartney number just doesn't cut the mustard any more around Lions Arch (the Paris of Tyria). Although she's still hot.

Just make sure you remove the turtles from their shells before you try wearing them. :x

I still think FoW female ranger armour is the one that better captures the ranger spirit. It's simple and protective; it helps blending in with the environment; allows freedom of movement and loosk very "natural".

Yes, I do love it.

The new Factions Ranger armour looks cool, indeed... But will it protect you against the biting cold of the shiverpeak mountains? And keep you from sunburning in the Crystal Desert?

I see it working well in the middle of petrified forests and seas of jade, but... It doens't convince me.

Yes, my Ranger will most likely be getting it. :P

However, FoW Mesmer armour is SO mine.

I think my ranger will stick to the pink mini-skirt schoolgirl look. I have nice armour for all my characters, so it'll just be whatever the new one is that gets exciting new stuff.

Ranger armour that gives +10 armour while using preparations? ZOMGBBQJCABOMB

I want. I DEFINATELY want.

Though that means losing the + energy form my druid set... :(

Dunno about the mesmer... My current one gives +15 AL while casting, and the FoW one I'm getting will be the extra energy one, so I think I'll only use it for a PvP char.

the ranger... Aieeeee... I won't have enough room in inventory for all the armours....

I still prefer the wanderer's + ascetics combo I have on my monk to all of those. I wonder, though, if the +15 armour while ina condition works per piece of armour, or overall. If so, I might make a big estetic sacrifice and go for the chest or leg pieces of that armour...

New armour options are wonderful. + health stuff ftw, might even help a little against spikers (start using +health armours, 2 +health mods on your staff, superior vigor and no other superior runes.. you'll be set even without Symbiosis and Fertile Season!)

OMG.

You can see the names of the new skills coming out for the core professions, in the Character Creation (for PVP chars) screen! Only the names, though, as they appear in the "locked skills" section.

Check them out... There are some very cool names in there.

From the looks of it, I'd say beastmasters will play a bigger role than ever before... Plenty of skills strike me as beastmastering ones, for the ranger.

Still checking the other ones. ;)

Air of Enchantment
Blessed light
Boon Signet
Deny Hexes
Dwayna's Sorrow
Emphatic removal
Ethereal light

Gift of Health
Healing burst
Healing light
Healing whisper
Heaven's delight
Jameis gaze
Kareis healing circle
Kirins wrath

Ray of judgement
Release enchants
Ressurection chant
Reverse hex
Shield guardion
Signet of rage
Signet of rejuvenation
Shield of light
Spell shield
Spirit bond
Stonesoul strike

Those are the new monk skills. No idea which are elites or what they do (though by their names, some sound very yummy) but! Hex removal seems to be easier with this which, i think, was about time.

Let the speculation begin? Shoudl another topic be made for this? I don't know and I cna't think at the moment cause my fangirlish instincts have kicked in and I'm just mumbling inchoherently!

Mmmm, without any bias whatsoever, those new warrior sets look very tasty. There's a sleekness to them that was lacking in Prophecies. Thank god for more imaginative oriental/asian designs. :)
