New Guildhall?

Postby Mori » Thu May 04, 2006 6:26 pm

We know and love the Wizard's Isle, but with some new and supremely pretty options out I thought it might be time we had a change of scenery. Doesn't have to be one of the new ones - just vote for which kind of hall you'd most like to live in - bearing in mind the PvP strategy point of view (if you play it!)

If you haven't checked out the guildhalls for yourself, the Canthan Ambassador in Lion's Arch (at the docks) will take you to any of them to explore a bit. There is also a fellow in Kaineng Centre who will do similar.

The reason I didn't put all 12 halls up as options was because a) we might get one vote each for all 12 and b) the max poll options is 10 and Bera isn't around to change this :P

I won't vote just yet (sorry Mori ;)) because I'm stil ltrying to figure out what sort of island would better fit our GvG playing style. I'd love to vote for the Weeping Stone (Kurzick) one, but I know it is of limited strategic value... The only big advantage over our current one would be the lack of catapults. those things really hinder us when we're forced bakc to the guild hall. :(

I'll give it some thought and then cast my vote.

Actually, that one sucks. :(

It's just a jade quarry. very dull, bleached colours and nasty coral. :(

Yeah, it's disappointing. :/ I need to check out the rest still though.

empire isle or meditation.
empire is more straight foward, the kind of battle we play, but meditation is requires more tactic, and thus it might force us to improve very quickly in coordination, and besides u have to admit, meditation isle is the pretiest of them all :D

I'm for Meditation skin-wise and tactics-wise but I'm not sure it suits our playstyle. It requires aggressive splitting and some timing with the obelisk/gate locks/flagstand =)

The Imperial wide open battlefield is in favor of spike teams. The Jade one with the coral and the one way path to opponent base is the new Fire Isle hall (aka spiker-favourite). And the Kurzick one is... dark =D

While I like the Nomad's Isle for its teleporters, I can't really stomach all the sand. I'm inclining towards either Weeping Stones or Meditation, subject to a closer look at both - though I don't think the Jade isle would be bad, that has teleporters too!

Definitely not the imperial isle, as I dislike fighting in huge open spaces. I crave a corner to dodge round when I'm being ranger spiked.

Yeah it's crap. Really drab and with hurty spikes. :(
Very disappointing.

The Imperial Isle is very nice though. I vote for that one! :D

Well, either stone (for the looks, cause I absolutely adore it) or meditation which will force us to review our way of playing.

Cast my vote anyhow. :D

How things have moved on.
I'm pretty sure that there was only one criteria for selcting the first hall... did it look nice.
Now folks are taling GvG tactics

Course... my vote would go on looks alone, as I don't know GvG tactics  For that reason, I reckon my vote is not relevant.

Heh, that's all I'm judging it on - how good it looks.

Tactics, schmactics. :P

Everyone's vote is relevant. Considering the guildhall will now be much more the centre of things with all its new features, I consider a beautiful one at least as important as one that suits us tactically.

Regardless, it's clear where the votes are heading so far, so I'll go make another poll where we choose between the four Factions islands available :)
