Wand Eaters from Zebulon Nine!

Postby Klokwurk » Thu May 25, 2006 11:30 pm

Just a warning to y'all. I was in a mission on my Rit and picked up a type of axe I hadn't seen before, so I equipped it, and I was just dragging my wand back over, when a mid-mission cutscene happened, and when the cutscene was over, the wand was gone! So be careful dragging items around if a cutscene's gonna happen, cuz they might poof like mine did.

Evil cutscenes. :(

I think Elle lost a staff once as well, maybe it was the same sort of situation?

I can't remember that well, but my mesmer lost her domination staff going into an outpost once, it just vanished from my inventory. Don't think I was moving it around at the time, but can't be sure.

Sucks to be bugged :(

I'll see if I can recreate that on Dev, Klok.
If so, I can at least report it as a bug.

Oh.. in case it is specific.. which mid-mission cut scene was it?

what menus wer u using? the regular inventory or some of the bags inventorys and ur character equipment screen seperatly? maybe the cut-scene caught ur wand in between windows and made the game think u wer gonna drop it

The mission was Arborstone.

Yeah, Arborstone mid-mission cutscene, the Inventory [I] menu, dragging the wand from the 3rd slot along of the top row in one of my 10-slot bags up towards my char piccy. The wand may have been over my belt pouch or backpack (which were full) when the cutscene started.

BTW.. I was able to recreate this easily. I just ran to a cutscene, and made sure I was holding summat when it started. I confirmed (by looking around after) that the item had dropped on the floor, though a little way off (I am estimating it was where the cut scene image started as we know they use the in-game engine, hence the mhenlo bug in Vizunah).

So have reported it on the Dev forum, but my guess is that it will be pretty low priority (unless they spot a very easy fix).

Meanwhile, if ya lose summat to a cinematic, have a look around after - and hope ya get to it before someone else :o

I bet it was grabbed by some scummy teenager who has more spots than his IQ and always talks in capitals. :(

I think the henchies got it. :( Klok was in a group of guildies, so either the henchies got it... Or it was transported to someplace no one noticed it on.

It was that cutscene where you don't get moved far, and I had a look on the floor but couldn't see it *shrug.* Not that it matters, it was just a trashy white wand, woulda been annoyed if it was a proper wep though. ^_^

Fixed a bug that allowed players to drop items inadvertently while cinematics were playing.

Wewt. It appears a difference can be made. :D

See TEH POWAR I have

Or more likely, seems it was "a very easy fix" :)

Feel free to tell me about more stuff, saves me having to find the bugs myself
(Though I do have to be able to reproduce it of course)

Think about Klok too, for spotting it and reporting it.

Then again... maybe best not to think about Klok too much...
